Time Units

In SI units, time is measured in seconds (s).

In hydropower:

• flow rates are measured as the number of cubic metres passing each second (m³/s);
• rotational speeds are measured in revolutions per minute (RPM);
• energy is measured in kilowatt-hours (kW-h, usually written kWh)
